High School
Wellspring High School prepares students to be successful contributors in the interconnected and rapidly changing world. Our rigorous curriculum exposes students to inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
High school students pursue a career pathway in computer programming and web design. This career pathway leads students to create computer and mobile applications which can be marketed and sold. These exciting and practical fields were selected so that students become competent in technology and business applications as well as marketing and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, this career pathway prepares students to intern at companies, after which they will be eligible to take the Microsoft certification exam in Microsoft Programming in HTML or the Java and/or Python Programming.
Wellspring High School students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement (AP) courses in history, computer science, and the physical and social sciences.
In order to graduate from Wellspring High School, seniors must demonstrate their college and career readiness by completing a capstone project. This includes giving a presentation that highlights their high school learning experiences such as the senior internship, financial literacy, college/AP credits earned, and a resume. Additionally, students will present a capstone project. The capstone project is a senior exhibition which serves as a culminating academic and intellectual experience. It is designed to encourage critical thinking, problem solving, public speaking, research and media literacy, planning, and goal setting.
Our guidance counselor ensures students are prepared for post-secondary opportunities by providing access to career information, exploration, and advisement, as well as ongoing career and college counseling. Students also participate in career exploration experiences and activities.
